the most beautiful glass

A scanning electron microscope image of pumice (frothy volcanic glass), magnified a little less than 300 times. This is one of my all time favourite materials - there's something milky and smooth about the texture, similar to toffee (and they are structurally similar as well).

I found the pumice in my jeans pocket when I bought them - it's used to pre-wash jeans to make them soft.
